AGM 2019 at Lagos:
Three delegates were sent to represent the branch, our president M. Monica P. Whyte. Our vice president Luchelle Nwokogba and our secretary Evgenia Bolotina-Duru.
Activities:
The security situation in Port-Harcourt is still as in previous years so our activities have not been too many.
-
The Polo Club in Port-Harcourt invited Nigerwives for the annual tournament. There was a special seating arrangement for Nigerwives and we were highly recognised. Drinks and food were offered. Some of our husbands attended the event too.
-
Valentine day was celebrated at Sweet Tooth. Members had a very good time.
-
Easter Family day was celebrated at Bcon Hotel
-
Women’s day was commemorated at Elkan Terrace. Some ladies from Kaleidoscope also join Nigerwives.
-
Christmas party was held at Luchelle’s warm home. It was well attended. Members exchanged gifts and we had a very good time together.
-
Kaleidoscope once again did not hold this year due to the fact of the security concerns in the state.
Happy events
Some members celebrated the birth of new grandchildren.
Bereavements
Our dear member Margaret Attat lost her loving husband after many years of marriage. The service of songs was at Port- Harcourt very well attended by members of our branch as well as husbands and Nigerwives kids.
Some of our members had gone to a hard year as health is concerned, however, they are much better now.
Charities
Our Christmas donation was some food items for the value of 100,000 naira to The Child, a school run by the catholic sisters of Corpus Christy Cathedral.
New members
We have some new members that join us from India, Cameron, Russia and Kenya. We pray that they become strong and active members of our branch.
We are looking forward to a more successful 2020.
