2017 ANNUAL REPORT

MEMBERSHIP

Three members, Anne Ukpong, Karen Wilson-Ama’Echefu and Johanna Asuquo left during the year for extended visits to their countries. Membership stands at 5. The following members serve as the branch executive: 

ACTIVITIES

Our monthly meetings held as usual with Traudl Sama hosting us. Maria Nkanang hosted us at her house to celebrate her birthday in February. Svetlana Idio and Ruth Akpan jointly celebrated their birthdays at Satelite Town Hotel during the March meeting. We equally celebrated Johanna Asuquo’s May birthday at her house.

On May 4th we visited the Immigration Comptroller stationed here in Calabar, Mrs. Funke Adenyi. She and her staff received us, updated us on new visa information for any visitors we may have and answered our questions.  We presented a token to thank her and her staff for their hospitality and good service.

Two members of our branch have lost loved ones: Karen Wilson-Ama’Echefu lost the daughter and Barbara Obott lost the husband after a brief illness.  Members were able to support Barbara by attendance of the Requiem Mass on December 21st.
