2016 ANNUAL REPORT

EXECUTIVE

 

The following are the new executives.

President – Monika ESSIEN (Germany)

Vice President – Sandya UDOFIA (Sri Lanka)

Treasurer – Ann MEDEKONG (Great Britain)

Secretary – Georgette EKEREUWEM (Mauritius)

Asst. Secretary / Asst. Treasurer – Rose D.OKON (Cameroon).

MEMBERSHIP STRENGTH

We have a total of 18 paid up members and 2 (Non-paying) honorary  members. 2 members joined us last year. One from Liberia and the other from Kenya.

 

MEETING SCHEDULE

Our monthly meetings were held on the last Saturday of every month in the houses of different members. There are 7-10 people at each meeting. Members are always made very comfortable at the meetings by their host, entertained and provided with delicious meals.

  

2016 AGM 

Lakshmi Tombush (India), Ann Medekong (British) and Sandya Udofia (Sri Lanka) represented the Branch in Warri AGM.

 

Two of our members were elected as National President and National Secretary. We thank all the Branches who supported our nominees at the AGM. As a Branch, we are very proud of this achievement we also thank our Warri sisters for their hospitality and hosting a successful AGM.

 

NIGEWIVES CHILDREN’S PARK

Landscaping and drainage work was done at the park. We are currently in the process of setting up the Children’s park. Already, a volley ball court is in place and other play equipment for children will be purchased soon.

ACTIVITIES

We celebrated members Birthdays at our monthly meetings. Our members appreciated the Birthday gifts from the Branch.

The branch hosted all members at an end-of-year party. We had a sumptuous lunch at the Le Meridien Hotel in Uyo. We had a great time.

 

WEDDING

Violetta’s Son got married in Imo State and Nigewives were hosted by Violetta in her home on 24th December 2016.

 

DEATHS

Our Branch was saddened by the lose of one of our members, Mrs. Margaretha Okafor, originally from Ghana, who died peacefully in her sleep on 26th December, 2016.

 

Sandya and Georgette both lost their mother in-laws in the course of the year 2016.

 

Finally, we use this opportunity to wish all our sisters nationwide all the best for the year 2017 and we look forward to AGM 2017 in Ibadan.
